Privacy Policy
Overview
Victoria Bond Ltd, trading as Awaken with Victoria Bond (“we”, “us”, “our”), is based in New Zealand and is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through awakenwithvictoriabond.com (the “Site”) and our programmes, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.
We handle personal information in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the additional rights described below also apply to you.
What We Collect
- Identity and contact details , such as your name and email address when you join our email list, take the Start Here quiz, download a free resource, register for a masterclass, or contact us.
- Purchase and account information: the programmes and memberships you buy, billing details, and your account activity. Card payments are processed by our payment providers; we do not store your full card number.
- Programme participation: content you share in our communities, on live calls (which may be recorded for replays), and in coursework or messages to us.
- Booking information: details you provide when booking a call (for example a Coffee Date) through our scheduling provider.
- Technical and usage data: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited and time on site, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide the Services by delivering courses, memberships, live calls, and support, and to process your payments.
- To send you emails you have asked for. Free resources, our newsletter, and information about programmes and offers. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and we honour unsubscribes promptly, consistent with New Zealand’s Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007.
- To personalise content and improve the Site and our programmes.
- To keep our Services secure, prevent fraud, and meet our legal obligations.
Legal Bases (EEA and UK)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of a contract (delivering Services you have purchased), consent (marketing emails and non-essential cookies, which you can withdraw at any time), legitimate interests (operating, improving, and securing our business), and legal obligation (tax and accounting records).
Who We Share It With
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the business, under their own privacy and security obligations:
- Kajabi: the platform this Site, our courses, memberships, emails, and checkouts run on. Kajabi holds your name, email address, account and purchase history, and the emails we send you. Kajabi privacy notice.
- Stripe: a payment provider behind the Kajabi checkout. Stripe receives your card and billing details to take the payment and passes us a record of the transaction, not your full card number. Stripe privacy policy.
- PayPal: a payment provider behind the Kajabi checkout. If you pay with PayPal, PayPal receives your payment and account details and passes us a record of the transaction. PayPal privacy statement.
- Calendly: call scheduling. When you book a call, Calendly receives the name, email address, and any answers you give on the booking form, along with the time you chose. Calendly privacy notice.
- Wistia: hosting for videos embedded on the Site. The player records that a video was played and how much of it was watched, and may set its own cookies. Wistia privacy policy.
- YouTube, part of Google: hosting for the YouTube videos embedded on the Site. Embedded players may set their own cookies and report viewing activity back to Google. Google privacy policy.
- Google Analytics 4, part of Google: site analytics. It records which pages you visit, roughly where in the world you are, the sort of browser and device you use, and actions such as clicking a button or submitting an opt-in form. Google privacy policy.
- Microsoft Clarity: session recordings and heatmaps, loaded on most pages of the Site. It records how you move through a page, where you click, scroll, and move your cursor, so we can see where people get stuck. Text you type into form fields is masked by default, so we do not see what you typed. Microsoft privacy statement.
- Meta pixel, part of Meta, the company behind Facebook and Instagram: advertising measurement, loaded on our sales and opt-in pages. It records that a page was viewed or that an opt-in or purchase happened, which Kajabi reports to Meta, so we can measure our advertising and show ads to people like you. Meta privacy policy.
We may also disclose information where required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of any person, and as part of a genuine business sale or restructure.
International Transfers
We are based in New Zealand, and our service providers (including Kajabi) store data primarily in the United States and other countries. Where your information leaves your country, we take reasonable steps to ensure it remains protected to a comparable standard, including using providers that offer appropriate contractual safeguards.
Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the Site working (essential cookies), remember your preferences, and understand how visitors use the Site. Embedded content, such as YouTube or Wistia videos and the Calendly booking widget, may set third-party cookies. The analytics and advertising providers named in Who We Share It With also set cookies or similar identifiers in your browser. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings; disabling cookies may affect some features of the Site.
Retention and Security
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, and then delete or de-identify it. For example, we keep account records while your account is active, and transaction records for the period required by New Zealand tax law.
We protect your information with appropriate technical and organisational measures, including secured platforms, encrypted payment processing, and limiting access to people who need it. No online service can be guaranteed 100% secure, but we take the safety of your information seriously.
Your Rights and Choices
Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 you may request access to the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. Email us and we will respond promptly.
If you are in the EEA or UK you also have the rights to erasure, restriction, portability, and to object to certain processing, and you may complain to your local data protection authority.
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in any email. If you have a privacy concern, please contact us first. We will do our best to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the New Zealand Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
Children
Our Site and Services are intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or the law. The current version, with its effective date, will always be posted on this page. If we make material changes, we will let you know by email or by a notice on the Site.
